David and Ruth Nelson are lovingly named "Pastor Dad" and "Pastor Mom" by many within The Rock. As Pastors Emeritus, they have retired from full-time senior pastorates, but have continued in ministry by actively leading Eagle's Wings, The Rock's senior adult ministry.

They also oversee missions and building projects and help with outreaches. Eagle's Wings Senior Adult Ministry services are every third Tuesday night of the month. Special trips and fellowships are held throughout the year. They consider it to be an honor after 40 years od ministry to be at The Rock ministering with their children and enjoying their grandchildren.
